Sigmon Inc. begins ambitious MMO Project

Sigmon Incorporated has announced today the beginning of their first Video Gaming Industry project, the MMO currently codenamed "Magnum Opus". A project involving primarily green talent in the programming and development field, "Magnum Opus" seeks to provide a completely new and original Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing experience, while still making the game a familiar and comfortable experience for gamers of every level. Sigmon Incorporated has slated this title to be released in June of 2008, to be released for the Windows Vista, XP, OSX, and Linux operating systems.

About the Project
Headed by Kirk Sigmon, the project currently known as "Magnum Opus" is the first Massively Multiplayer Online Game to be designed completely by talented gamers instead of freelance programmers. In this way, the game is targeting to be the direct answer to the boredom of traditional games, and rather will be a completely original and unique experience for gamers of all ages.

While Sigmon Incorporated is keeping expressedly silent about the details of this project, the following details are being released to gamers and investors alike:
  • The title will be available to gamers on all major OSes, including Windows XP, Windows Vista, OSX, and Linux
  • "Magnum Opus" will be in 2D, rather than 3D. This will allow for a much more streamlined experience for a much wider variety of gamers.
  • As well, "Magnum Opus" will feature methods to provide that the game continues to grow both in the online world and outside of it.
  • Portions of the game engine will be licensed out to independent developers to allow for innovation and additions to the game content.
  • "Magnum Opus" will completely destroy the concept of "grind", "click-to-kill", and other common flaws with current MMORPGs.
  • The game will be available both Retail and Online, and will feature an extremely low price point, and not include "money for equipment" or other forms of alternative payment methods.
  • Gamers will, for the first time, find themselves directly involved with a story that continues, even including opportunities to be involved in major changes in the game world content.


  • Staff Involved
    The project currently codenamed "Magnum Opus" features an impressive list of staff including some professionals in their industries. From revolutionary programmers such as Lawton Campbell and Alex Henderson to artistic geniuses like Annie Malara and Elizabeth Cutter, the project itself is a defining attempt in the industry. The entire project is being managed by CEO Kirk Sigmon, as well as monitored by famous critics in the gaming industry- from professional game reviewers to casual gamers.

    This diversity, teamed with talent, is considered by Sigmon Incorporated to be essential for the development of this project. In total, over 30 people are currently involved in the development of the project code named "Magnum Opus", which is speculated to grow to over 50 by the end of the development of this title.
